Jay "Warden" Proctor
Commander Chapter 27-2
Welcome to Northern Virginia CVMA Chapter 27-2.
Over the past 4 years we have grown to be the largest CVMA Chapter in the world (yes, CVMA is international). What a truly amazing chapter we have become. The character, sacrifice and willingness to live up to our motto of 'vets helping vets' continues to be demonstrated across our area. Besides our major riding events; CVMA Ride to the Wall, Bull Run III and One Cent Challenge, we continue to support many other veterans charities and rides.
From a statistics perspective, last year we as a chapter logged over 250,000 miles, supported rides with our sister chapter in Virginia, and other events in AL, TX, FL, MD, NC, PA, SC, TN and WV. We have supported numerous riding and non-riding events aimed at helping veterans and raising awareness of veteran issues. Since our inception in 2011, we have raised over $150,000 to help fight PTSD/TBI. During this process we have ridden over 1 million miles in support of veteran charities.
The most important thing is the true bond of brotherhood that binds us. I had the privilege of serving in tremendous and historical units during my 27 years in the Army and the camaraderie in 27-2 rivals those organizations. It's a privilege to have you as brothers and sisters.
Our success would not possible without everyone's participation and support. I especially want to thank all those who stepped up to be chapter officers or area reps - I know all the countless hours you put in behind the scenes.
We have lost members over the years and 27-2 stepped up to support the families of our lost brothers and will continue to do so. For us it truly is a family affair.
For those fellow combat veterans reading this, please reach out to us. Take a minute to look at our calendar of events and come join us at one. In the meantime, Welcome Home.
